Organize, coordinate, and control process operations of Kilns, Coal Mills, Raw Mills, and Cement Mills to meet productivity, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and monitor process operations of Kiln, Coal Mill, Raw Mill, and Cement Mill lines to ensure optimum plant availability.
Control critical process parameters to achieve targeted clinker and cement production.
Monitor process stoppages, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Drive cost optimization by reducing fuel, power, refractory, and grinding media consumption within budget norms.
Implement and monitor process improvement and debottlenecking projects.
Ensure consistent clinker and cement quality in line with brand and customer requirements.
Support production using indigenous coal and optimize coal mill power consumption.
Coordinate with quality, maintenance, and other departments for smooth operations.
Ensure compliance with ISO, EMS, OHSAS, SA 8000, WCM, and other system requirements.
Identify and rectify unsafe conditions, leakage points, and emission deviations.
Lead training, skill development, and competency enhancement of process teams.
Liaise with OEMs for process optimization, troubleshooting, and technology upgrades.
Major Challenges
Achieving clinker targets with indigenous coal.
Reducing power consumption in coal and cement grinding.
Maintaining fuel consumption within budgeted limits.
Qualification
B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Post graduate qualification in Cement/Process Technology – preferable.
Experience
15–18 years of experience in cement plant process operations.
Minimum 5–7 years in Kiln, Coal Mill, Raw Mill, and Cement Mill operations at a leadership level.
Exposure to large integrated cement plants is essential.
