Job Title: DGM Compliance

Location: Bangalore/Delhi NCR/Mumbai

Team: 20+ Direct reportees

Role Summary

The job of a DGM compliance is to ensure that the activities of a company are in compliance with local/national laws, ethical standards and regulatory policies. Being a compliance lead, the job requires performing periodic audits and designing control systems that augment the efficiency within the framework of the internal regulations and policies. From leading training sessions to adhering to compliance regulations while implementing them, this role requires an analytical person, who knows the industry and its trends back to front.

Key Responsibilities:

This candidate experience plays a crucial role in ensuring an organization's adherence to labour laws and regulations, overseeing and monitoring the implementation of the compliance program.

  • Policy Adherence: Monitoring the current policies and systems in place and ensuring that it complies with legal and regulatory laws and implement the industry specific best practices.
  • Risk Identification: Identifying hidden risks the organization may face and providing effective recommendations to handle them.
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Staying up-to-date with regulatory changes that may impact the organization's operations.
  • Control Systems: Developing and overseeing control systems to prevent or address violations of legal guidelines and internal policies. Coordinating efforts related to audits, reviews, and examinations. Liaise with government authorities, inspectors, and regulatory bodies for inspections, notices, and compliance matters
  • Efficiency Evaluation: Continuously evaluating the effectiveness of controls and improving them as needed.
  • Policy Revision: Periodically revising procedures, reports, and other documents to identify hidden risks or non-conformity issues
  • Consulting and Advising: Collaborating with the legal department and advising leadership /management and internal stakeholders, client & vendors etc, on compliance matters. Should have to build good relationships with senior regulatory officials in key markets/government departments/regulators on compliance requirements.
  • Employee Training: Developing and providing training on compliance policies, practices, internal gaps, process improvement and reporting systems.
  • Issue Identification: Identifying, investigating, and reporting compliance issues, irregularities, and violations. Take action in dealing with noncompliance situations, creating realistic plans to overcome them.
  • Contract Compliance: Ensuring compliance with contracts and prevailing wage, bonus, social benefits, working hours and related requirements. Monitor changes in labour laws and proactively implement regulatory updates across the organization
  • Monitoring and Documentation: Monitoring compliance practices, documenting activities, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Dispute Resolution: Resolving disputes between management and employees related to labor compliance. Handling effectively the day to day employment related queries including disciplinary issues, individual termination and statutory benefits.
  • Dashboard: Developing the annual compliance work plan that reflects the organization's unique characteristics and compliance dashboard with periodical audit checks & status report to management & internal stakeholders. Srong technical acumen and able to adopt and implement recent technologies to effectively manage the compliance operations & team.

Education & Qualification required:

- Applicants should possess relevant of at least 15+ years experience in Labour Law compliances either in a corporate or in a consulting organization.

- Preferably looking out for someone who is currently in statutory compliance/ Compliance management related either managing the function within a Corporate or for a consulting organization

- Minimum Qualification Required: Post Graduation in HR /MBA HR / Labour Law/ (A degree in Law is highly preferred).

- Should have knowledge of PAN India labour compliances - across Industries.
