Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Desktop Support Engineer to provide technical assistance and support for end users. The role involves troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues to ensure smooth day-to-day IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first- and second-level technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows/macOS) and standard business applications
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic network issues (LAN/Wi-Fi, VPN, email)
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access using Active Directory / Azure AD
- Perform system updates, patches, and antivirus management
- Support Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint)
- Document incidents, service requests, and resolutions in a ticketing system
- Coordinate with vendors and internal IT teams for escalated issues
- Set up and support new employee workstations and IT onboarding
- Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and best practices
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree / Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 14 years of experience in desktop or IT support (can be adjusted)
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS, basic networking, and hardware troubleshooting
- Experience with Active Directory and user support tools
- Good understanding of ITIL processes and ticketing systems
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Experience with macOS and mobile device management (MDM)
- Knowledge of SCCM, Intune, or similar endpoint management tools
- Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell)
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications
Work Environment
- Office / Onsite / Hybrid support environment
- May require shift work or on-call support depending on business needs
