Job Description

Job Title: Desktop Support Engineer

Experience Required: Min 2 Year

Location: Mumbai

Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Deskside Support Engineer to join our IT support team. This role will provide essential technical support to end users for desktop/laptop systems, printers, and other IT-related issues. The ideal candidate will have experience in troubleshooting, system administration, and coordinating with third-party vendors for IT asset support.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Desktop/Laptops/Printers Administration (L2)

o Manage and maintain desktop, laptop, and printer hardware and software.

o Troubleshoot hardware issues, install software, and ensure proper system functionality.

2.Antivirus Management (L1)

o Install, update, and monitor antivirus software to ensure the security of end-user devices.

3.M365 Administration (L2)

o Administer Microsoft 365 services, including user account management, troubleshooting, and system configurations.

4.Inventory/IT Asset Management (L2)

o Maintain accurate records of IT assets, ensuring proper tracking, updating, and reporting of hardware/software inventory.

5.Backup and Recovery Management (L1)

o Assist with backup operations and recovery procedures for end-user data and systems.

6.Internet/Proxy Management (L1)

o Configure and manage internet and proxy settings for users, ensuring secure and stable network access.

7.Coordination with Third-Party Vendors for IT Assets (L1)

o Coordinate with external vendors for the maintenance and support of IT assets under warranty or proprietary support.

8.Firewall Operation (Basics) (L1)

o Perform basic firewall operations, ensuring network security and proper functioning.

9.Server Administration (L1)

o Assist in basic server administration tasks, including monitoring server health and performing routine maintenance.

10.EPBAX (L1)

o Provide support for EPBAX systems, handling issues and maintaining system functionality.

11.Network Support (L1)

o Assist in troubleshooting network issues, configuring devices, and ensuring smooth network connectivity.

12.Vendor Management (L1)

o Manage relationships with IT vendors, ensuring timely resolution of issues and coordinating support.

13.End User Data Backup (L2)

o Oversee and manage end-user data backup processes, ensuring regular and reliable backups.

14.English Communication Skills (Speaking & Writing) (L2)

o Strong proficiency in English (both speaking and writing) to effectively communicate with end-users and vendors.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience in IT support or a similar role, preferably in desktop support.

Strong troubleshooting skills with a deep understanding of hardware and software issues.

Hands-on experience with desktop/laptop administration, M365, and antivirus software.

Familiarity with IT asset management and inventory control.

Basic understanding of network and server administration.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset.

Ability to interact effectively with vendors and third-party support teams.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or a similar role.

Desired Skills:

Certifications in relevant areas (e.g., Microsoft Certified, CompTIA A+, etc.) are a plus.

Experience with firewall management and basic server administration is desirable.
