Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Design & System Development:
- Assist in the design and preparation of electrical systems for various projects, including power distribution, lighting, backup systems, and control circuits.
- Create detailed electrical design drawings, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, electrical layouts, and control systems, using design tools (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
- Support the development of electrical specifications and calculations to ensure that designs meet project requirements and compliance standards.
- Collaboration & Coordination:
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines, including mechanical, civil, and structural teams, to ensure that electrical designs are properly integrated into the overall project.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss technical details, design challenges, and modifications required to meet project goals.
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors to ensure that electrical materials and equipment are specified correctly and delivered on time.
- Project Documentation & Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain design documentation, including project drawings, calculation sheets, and technical reports.
- Contribute to the development of project specifications and tender documents.
- Ensure that all design changes and updates are accurately documented and communicated to the relevant stakeholders.
- Design Review & Compliance:
- Review and ensure compliance of electrical designs with applicable industry standards, codes, and safety regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE, etc.).
- Participate in design reviews and safety audits to ensure that designs are safe, reliable, and cost-effective.
- Ensure that all electrical systems meet energy efficiency, sustainability, and environmental requirements as per project specifications.
- Support during Construction & Commissioning:
- Provide technical support during the construction phase to ensure that electrical installations are carried out according to the design.
- Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues during installation and provide solutions as necessary.
- Participate in the commissioning and testing of electrical systems to verify their performance and ensure proper functionality.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay current with advancements in electrical design technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
- Propose innovative and cost-effective solutions to improve design efficiency and performance.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, or a related field.
- Additional certifications or training in electrical design software (AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, etc.) are a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of [X] years of experience in electrical design engineering, ideally with a focus on general electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
- Familiarity with electrical design standards, codes, and regulations such as NEC, IEC, and IEEE.
