Key Responsibilities:
- Civil Engineering Design:
- Prepare, review, and modify designs for civil infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, utilities, drainage systems, and urban development.
- Work across various design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, etc.) to create detailed drawings, schematics, and plans.
- Perform civil engineering calculations and simulations to ensure project feasibility, safety, and compliance with regulations.
Project Management Support:
- Assist in the management of project timelines, resources, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with other engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure integrated project designs.
- Communicate with clients to understand project goals and expectations, ensuring designs align with client needs and local regulations.
Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration:
- Collaborate with structural, transportation, and environmental engineering teams to develop holistic solutions for complex projects.
- Contribute to the design and analysis of stormwater management systems, roadways, foundations, and other civil components.
- Ensure that all designs meet relevant standards, codes, and environmental regulations.
Site Visits and Surveys:
- Conduct site assessments to gather information for project planning and design.
- Assess site conditions and provide recommendations for design modifications or enhancements.
- Assist with the preparation of technical reports based on site evaluations.
Technical Documentation:
- Produce clear, accurate technical documentation, including reports, drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Review and update design documentation to reflect changes and revisions.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and best practices.
- Participate in training sessions, workshops, and certifications to improve skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field). A Master's degree is a plus.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering design, with exposure to multiple disciplines (structural, transportation, environmental, etc.).
- Licensing: Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, or the ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
- Skills:
- Proficient in civil engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, etc.).
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and standards.
- Ability to perform engineering analysis and calculations.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
