Key Responsibilities:
Project Scheduling and Planning:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for construction or engineering projects, including all activities, milestones, and deliverables.
- Ensure that project schedules are aligned with project goals, constraints, and resources.
- Prepare and update detailed project plans, including timelines, cost estimates, and resource allocation.
Monitoring and Reporting:
- Continuously monitor project progress to ensure timelines are adhered to.
- Prepare regular progress reports, highlighting any delays, risks, or issues that may impact project deadlines.
- Provide forecasts and updates to senior management on the current project status.
Resource Management:
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure that adequate resources (manpower, materials, equipment) are available as required for each phase of the project.
- Ensure efficient allocation and utilization of resources throughout the project lifecycle.
Risk and Issue Management:
- Identify potential risks and issues that could affect project timelines and work with project teams to mitigate them.
- Collaborate with the project manager and other stakeholders to develop and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
- Communicate regularly with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other teams to discuss project progress and resolve any challenges.
- Coordinate with various departments to gather inputs for accurate planning and scheduling.
Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and cost estimates, ensuring they align with the project schedule.
- Track and control project costs to ensure that the project stays within the established budget.
Change Management:
- Track and document any changes to the project scope or schedule, ensuring that all revisions are incorporated into the updated plan.
- Evaluate the impact of changes on the overall project schedule and provide timely recommendations.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate documentation of planning records, including schedules, progress reports, and risk logs.
- Prepare and present periodic reports for internal and client review, including status updates and any corrective actions taken.
Continuous Improvement:
- Suggest improvements to the planning process to increase efficiency and reduce risks for future projects.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in planning tools and software.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project planning or scheduling, preferably in the construction, engineering, or infrastructure industries.
- Certifications: Certification in Project Management (PMP, Prince2) or equivalent is a plus.
Skills:
- Proficiency in planning software (MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar tools).
- Strong knowledge of project management principles and scheduling techniques.
