Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the structural design and analysis of:
Lattice towers (self-supporting and guyed)
Monopoles
Mounting structures (sector frames, antenna platforms, rooftop mounts)
- Perform analysis and prepare calculation packages in compliance with industry standards, with a strong emphasis on:
TIA-222
ASCE 7
IBC
ACI 318
- Support foundation design efforts including:
Pad and pier foundations
Drilled pier foundations
Soil-structure interaction considerations and loading from superstructure
- Conduct wind and seismic load analysis for various site conditions using applicable codes.
- Model and evaluate structures using analysis software such as RISA-3D, TNX Tower, and other FEA tools as applicable.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, drafters, and project teams to develop and review design drawings, connection details, and load trees.
- Contribute to the development of standard design templates and calculation tools.
- Support preparation of technical reports, equipment mounting layouts, and foundation drawings.
- Ensure all engineering output complies with internal QA/QC standards and customer requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 4–5 years of experience in structural engineering, preferably with exposure to telecom infrastructure.
- Strong working knowledge of:
TIA-222 structural design standards.
ASCE 7, IBC, and ACI 318
- Proficiency in structural analysis software:
RISA-3D
TNX Tower
Exposure to FEA tools like STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, or similar (preferred)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor for structural detailing and component modeling.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to interpret geotechnical reports and incorporate findings into foundation design.
- Experience with telecom tower manufacturers, engineering consultants, or carriers.
- Understanding of connection design, base plate detailing, and erection considerations.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to project-specific tools and customer requirements.
