Role Description

SHRM India is looking for a dynamic and strategic marketing & communications leader to drive integrated brand, marketing, and audience growth initiatives across SHRM's flagship conferences, leadership platforms, consulting solutions, and product portfolios.

This role requires a strong blend of brand thinking, growth marketing capability, storytelling excellence, and business acumen. The ideal candidate should understand how to build influence at scale, combining high-impact campaigns, thought leadership positioning, digital innovation, and strategic communications to strengthen SHRM's presence across the world of work.

As DGM – Marketing & Communications, you will play a key role in shaping market perception, driving engagement, accelerating demand generation, and elevating SHRM's positioning as a leading voice in HR, leadership, and workplace transformation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Marketing & Brand Leadership
  • Lead integrated marketing strategy across SHRM India's conferences, products, consulting, and leadership platforms.
  • Build impactful brand campaigns that strengthen awareness, engagement, and business growth.
  • Develop positioning and messaging frameworks aligned to SHRM's long-term vision and market relevance.
  • Drive audience acquisition, community engagement, and brand affinity across digital and offline ecosystems.

2. Communications & Thought Leadership
  • Strengthen SHRM's positioning as a leading voice on the future of work.
  • Lead strategic communications, executive visibility initiatives, and thought leadership amplification.
  • Partner with internal leaders and external stakeholders to shape narratives around HR, AI, leadership, talent, and workplace transformation.
  • Ensure consistency of brand voice and communication across all touchpoints.

3. Campaigns, Demand Generation & Growth
  • Drive delegate registrations, engagement, and revenue impact across key business portfolios.
  • Build integrated multi-channel campaigns across digital, social, email, partnerships, content, and performance marketing.
  • Optimize marketing funnels from awareness to conversion using data-driven strategies.
  • Leverage automation and personalization to improve lead nurturing and campaign effectiveness.

4. Digital, AI & Innovation
  • Use AI-led marketing tools and platforms to improve productivity, personalization, and campaign performance.
  • Drive experimentation with new-age marketing formats including short-form video, interactive experiences, and community-led engagement.
  • Stay ahead of trends in digital behavior, platform algorithms, audience consumption, and emerging technologies.

5. Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Collaborate closely with product, sales, partnerships, consulting, and leadership teams to align marketing with business priorities.
  • Lead agency relationships and oversee creative, content, media, and production partners.
  • Mentor and guide internal teams while fostering a culture of agility, innovation, and accountability.

6. Analytics & Business Impact
  • Track marketing effectiveness across channels and campaigns.
  • Use analytics and insights to continuously optimize ROI, CAC, engagement, and conversion performance.
  • Build dashboards and executive-level reports for visibility and strategic decision-making.

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • 8–12 years of experience in integrated marketing, brand, or communications roles.
  • Proven experience in leading high-impact campaigns and driving measurable business growth.
  • Strong understanding of brand strategy, performance marketing, digital ecosystems, and audience engagement.
  • Hands-on exposure to AI tools, marketing automation, analytics platforms, and modern content ecosystems.
  • Excellent storytelling, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-ownership, growth-oriented environment.
