We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Software Engineering

In This Role, You Will

  • Providing leadership to a Team of Global DDI (DNS, DHCP & IP Address Mangement) SMEs to manage the Global DDI infrastructures and services.
  • Mangaing and maintaining the infrastructure to meet business and technology requirements balanced with reducing infrastructure complexity
  • Delivering and operating Connectivity business services that utilise appropriate infrastructure technology solutions such that they are efficient, cost optimal and highly resilient, in collaboration with business and Technology stakeholders
  • Leading global teams responsible for engineering, deploying base environments and operating the core IT infrastructure platform technology and solutions that run in Connectivity
  • Ensuring Service Quality Targets are met for offered Connectivity services
  • Managing Business stakeholders and to define product roadmaps and keep other areas of HSBC informed about the Technological infrastructure capabilities available
  • Effectively engaging with and managing supplier relationships including the full supplied product lifecycle such as selection, procurement, ongoing performance reviews and relationship exit
  • Taking a lead role in embedding Agile principles and methodologies within teams
  • Supporting the wider Core Networks OPCO team in the broader management of the platform including both functional and entity management including onboarding new joiners and managing contractor resources.
  • Driving a continuous improvement approach and fostering a growth mindset to support a high performance team and culture

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • A thorough understanding and experience of managing DDI (DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management) technologies on a Global scale for a large enterprise.
  • A good understanding of Network hardware and Software and general IT Support principles and knowledge of ITID policy, processes, procedures and systems.
  • Technical experience with one or more of the following: DDI (DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management) technologies; QIP, Infoblox, efficientIP, AMM/AMS, F5 GTM / Big-IP DNS, SQL, Unix, Scripting (VBA, Python, Shell)
  • Excellent knowledge of the project lifecycle and strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to articulate the case for IT investments and alternatives in the language of the business.
  • Ability to actively participate and take a lead role in crisis response and recovery.
  • A good understanding of strategic planning, including managing change, processes and business cases
  • Excellent inter-personal skills including the ability to influence peer group
  • Understand and interpret complex business and IT requirements
