Role Overview

We are looking for a Database Performance engineer to lead Microsoft SQL Server throughput optimization initiatives, analyze and resolve database performance bottlenecks and design scalable database sizing frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Perform database performance assessment and baseline analysis

Identify long-running queries and blocking issues

Optimize indexes, query plans, and statistics

Review ORM (Entity Framework) generated queries

Implement SQL Server configuration tuning

Monitor CPU, memory, IO, and wait statistics

Design and validate performance benchmarks

Recommend database sizing

Support migration and deployment performance validation

Document optimization improvements and metrics

Required Skills

Technical Skills

Strong experience in Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022)

Query optimization and execution plan analysis

Index design and maintenance strategies

Understanding of isolation levels and locking mechanisms

Performance monitoring (DMVs, Profiler, Extended Events)

Experience with Entity Framework performance tuning

Knowledge of database concurrency and throughput tuning

Backup, recovery, and migration planning

Good to Have

Experience with high-write real-time systems

Exposure to hardware-integrated applications

Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps pipelines

Experience in capacity planning and sizing frameworks
