Role Summary
We are looking for a highly dependable Manager for Data & AI practice of BuzzClan in India who can act as a strong backup for the data function and take ownership of day-to-day delivery with minimal to no supervision. This person should be someone leadership can rely on to manage priorities, lead the team, solve problems, communicate with stakeholders, and keep execution moving smoothly.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is practical, accountable, willing to learn new things quickly, and not afraid of unknowns or ambiguity.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive data and AI initiatives from planning to delivery
- Manage day-to-day work across data engineering, analytics, BI, reporting, and AI efforts
- Lead and mentor team members, review work, and ensure accountability
- Translate business needs into practical execution plans
- Work closely with stakeholders and provide clear updates, risks, and recommendations
- Identify blockers early and solve problems independently
- Maintain quality, documentation, and delivery discipline
- Support architecture, design discussions, and technical decision-making where needed
- Act as a dependable second-in-command for the function
- Able to work with cross function team like proposal writers, sales, pre-sales and marketing
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in data, analytics, BI, data engineering, or related areas
- 5+ years of experience managing teams or leading delivery
- Strong hands-on knowledge of SQL, data pipelines, reporting, analytics, and modern data platforms
- Good understanding of AI use cases and data-driven problem-solving
- Strong communication, ownership, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities
