Job Description

We're hiring a hands-on Data Analyst to lead the data narrative at Unloq. Primarily, the work will include keeping core metrics visible and reliable, driving deep analysis, and helping shape insights that merge into product and business decisions. This role requires building reliable dashboards from scratch, while also surfacing actionable insights, identifying opportunities for intelligent automation, and helping build the foundation for a data-driven product. You'll work closely with the Founder's Office, Product, and Engineering teams. We value all opinions, and you'll have a real say in what gets built and why.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports, ensuring core business and product metrics are visible, consistent, and easy to act on.
  • Update and monitor reporting pipelines regularly to support day-to-day and strategic decision-making.
  • Proactively analyse trends, user behaviour, and business performance to surface non-obvious insights and flag risks or opportunities early.
  • Partner with Product and Strategy teams on root-cause investigations when metrics or behaviours shift unexpectedly.
  • Identify patterns in data that point to new product opportunities or improvements.
  • Work with the Engineering team to define data capture requirements, influence instrumentation decisions, and ensure the right data is being collected in the right way.
  • Contribute to building intelligent, data-driven systems, including signals, scoring models, and automated triggers, that reduce manual overhead and improve outcomes over time.
  • Own end-to-end execution on analytical initiatives, from framing the question to delivering a recommendation.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of full-time work experience in a Data Analyst or Business Analyst role.
  • Ability to write complex SQL (stored procedures, views, functions, etc. ) with strong performance tuning.
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking capabilities, and an in-depth understanding of data.
  • Proven ability to go from raw data to a clear business insight or recommendation, independently.
  • Experience working with relational databases (Postgres preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with ClickHouse or similar columnar/OLAP databases, comfortable designing schemas, writing analytical queries, and squeezing performance out of large event datasets.
  • Familiarity with ETL/Data Warehouses/BI tools (Superset preferred).
  • Comfortable working with statistical concepts (distributions, correlations, significance, etc. ) and applying them in practice.
  • Experience or strong curiosity around predictive signals, scoring, or feature engineering is a big plus.
  • Ability to clearly communicate data needs to Engineering and collaborate on instrumentation and data modelling.
