Key Responsibilities
Data Extraction, Transformation & Loading (ETL)
- Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL workflows using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Integrate data from multiple sources (databases, flat files, APIs, cloud sources) into centralized data platforms.
- Monitor and troubleshoot ETL jobs to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Optimize SSIS packages for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Data Analysis & Modeling
- Write complex and optimized SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and functions.
- Perform data profiling, validation, and reconciliation to ensure high data quality.
- Build and maintain analytical datasets and semantic models for reporting and analysis.
- Apply statistical and exploratory data analysis techniques using Python.
Business Intelligence & Visualization
- Develop interactive and scalable dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Design effective data models, DAX measures, and calculated columns.
- Translate business requirements into meaningful KPIs, metrics, and visual insights.
- Ensure dashboards follow visualization best practices and performance standards.
Advanced Analytics & Automation
- Use Python (e.g., pandas, numpy, matplotlib, seaborn) for advanced data analysis and automation.
- Automate recurring reporting and data preparation tasks.
- Perform trend analysis, forecasting, and root-cause analysis where required.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work with business users, product owners, and leadership to understand reporting and analytics needs.
- Present insights, findings, and recommendations in a clear and actionable manner.
- Support data requests, ad-hoc analysis, and executive reporting.
Data Governance & Best Practices
- Follow data governance, security, and compliance standards.
- Maintain documentation for data models, ETL processes, and reporting assets.
- Adhere to version control, deployment, and change management processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in SQL (complex joins, CTEs, window functions, performance tuning).
- Hands-on experience with SSIS for ETL and workflow orchestration.
- Advanced experience with Power BI, including:
- Data modeling
- DAX
- Power Query
- Performance optimization
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server).
Analytical & Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to translate business problems into data-driven solutions.
- Excellent communication and data storytelling skills.
- High attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Exposure to Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, or Databricks.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts (star/snowflake schemas).
- Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git).
- Prior experience in Agile or DevOps environments.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–6+ years of experience in data analytics, BI, or similar roles (adjust based on seniority level).
