Purpose of the Role
The IB CP Coordinator is a pedagogical and administrative leader responsible for the successful implementation, development, and management of the International Baccalaureate Career-related Programme (IB CP). This role ensures that the CP framework integrates academic rigor from the Diploma Programme with career-related learning, fostering student readiness for higher education, careers, and lifelong learning.
The CP Coordinator is responsible for leading Grades 11 and 12 CP implementation, aligning the programme with IB standards, and ensuring students receive a holistic, career-focused international education.
Principal Accountabilities & Responsibilities
1. Programme Leadership
Lead the implementation and continuous development of the IB Career-related Programme.
Ensure the CP framework, core components, and career pathways align with IB standards and school vision.
Promote international-mindedness, ethical practice, and learner profile attributes throughout the programme.
Oversee the authorization and evaluation processes for the CP.
Serve as the central point of contact between the school and the IB.
2. Curriculum & Academic Excellence
Coordinate alignment between DP subjects and career-related studies.
Ensure the effective implementation of CP Core components:
o Personal and Professional Skills (PPS)
o Service Learning
o Language Development
o Reflective Project
Monitor internal assessments, external assessments, and timelines.
Analyze student achievement data and plan targeted interventions
3. Student Development & Career Readiness
Oversee admissions, academic progression, and career pathway planning.
Coordinate work-based learning opportunities, internships, and industry partnerships.
Support students with academic, career, and personal guidance.
Ensure inclusive practices and student wellbeing.
4. Staff Leadership & Capacity Building
Identify staffing needs in collaboration with HR and school leadership.
Plan and conduct professional development for CP teachers and mentors.
Conduct classroom observations, feedback sessions, and performance reviews.
Mentor teachers in inquiry-based, career-focused pedagogies.
5. Stakeholder Engagement
Maintain strong communication with parents, students, industries, and partner organizations.
Organize CP orientation sessions, workshops, and showcases of student work.
Strengthen school visibility through programme promotion and networking.
6. Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure alignment with IB standards, practices, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate documentation for IB audits, evaluations, and deadlines.
Oversee examination processes and ensure academic integrity.
7. Administrative & Operational Responsibilities
Support budget planning for CP-related activities and resources.
Collaborate with Accounts, Admin, and HR for smooth programme operations.
Maintain accurate student and programme records.
Manpower Planning
Identify and recruit qualified faculty aligned to CP needs.
Ensure timely onboarding, training, and induction of new staff.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Qualifications:
B.Ed. + Post Graduate degree in a relevant subject.
Preferred:
IB CP training and workshops.
