The Opportunity
A global media company is building out its India editorial operations and has partnered with Flexiple to hire a Copy Editor who can be the last line of defence before anything publishes. Volume is picking up faster than the editorial team can review it line by line, and the company needs someone who can keep quality steady as output grows. Flexiple is a managed marketplace that helps global companies build high-performing teams and GCCs in India.
What You'll Own
Editing & Quality
- Copy-edit articles, scripts, and published content for grammar, clarity, and house style
- Check facts, names, and figures against source material before publish
- Flag structural or tone issues back to writers, not just line-level fixes
Process & Standards
- Maintain and evolve the style guide as formats and content types expand
- Work with writers and editors to keep turnaround times realistic without cutting corners
- Spot-check published content for errors that slipped through
What Makes You a Fit
- 2 to 6 years copy editing, proofreading, or a closely related editorial role
- Excellent command of English grammar, usage, and style
- A sharp eye for inconsistency, and the patience to check the same thing twice
- Comfort giving writers direct feedback without softening it into vagueness
Good to Have
- Experience editing for a newsroom, publisher, or media company
- Familiarity with a style guide such as AP or Chicago
- Exposure to editing video scripts or audio content, not only text
