Job Description
Work leaving an independent advertising agency with about a hundred people currently gets a final read from whichever writer has five minutes free — which means client decks, campaign copy, and pitch documents sometimes go out with typos, inconsistent brand names, or copy that reads differently depending on who touched it last. The agency has partnered with Flexiple to bring in a dedicated Copy Editor to close that gap.
You will be the last set of eyes on everything before it leaves the building — campaign copy, client presentations, scripts, and social content — checking grammar and clarity but also consistency against each client's specific style and tone guidelines, since the agency juggles several brand voices at once. You'll work closely with copywriters and account teams, often against tight client deadlines.
What this needs:
- 2 to 6 years copy editing or proofreading, ideally in advertising, media, or an agency setting
- Comfort holding multiple brand style guides in your head at once
- Strong grammar fundamentals and an eye for inconsistency across formats
- Ability to work fast under deadline without letting quality slip
- Clear, direct feedback style when sending work back to writers
