Role Overview:
The organization is seeking a qualified Consultant (IT Implementation) to support technology-driven projects for Central and State Government departments. The role focuses on IT solution implementation, system integration, process automation, digital transformation, and e-governance initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience delivering government IT projects and will support project planning, execution, monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities
1. IT Project Implementation
- Support end-to-end implementation of IT systems, platforms, and digital solutions for government projects.
- Coordinate with technology vendors, system integrators, internal teams, and government stakeholders.
- Monitor project timelines, deliverables, quality parameters, and compliance requirements.
- Assist in UAT, system testing, deployment, and go-live activities.
2. Requirement Gathering & Analysis
- Conduct requirement gathering sessions with government departments.
- Prepare BRDs (Business Requirement Documents), FRS (Functional Requirement Specifications), and workflow documentation.
- Identify gaps in existing processes and propose technology-driven improvements.
3. Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with Central/State Government officials, IT teams, vendors, and implementation partners.
- Support meetings, workshops, training sessions, and review discussions.
- Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare project reports, progress dashboards, presentations, and documentation as per standards.
- Maintain MIS, logs, issue trackers, and risk registers.
- Ensure timely submission of all deliverables and compliance with quality guidelines.
5. Technical Evaluation & Support
- Assist in evaluating IT solutions, proposals, architectures, and vendor capabilities.
- Provide support in RFP drafting, bid evaluation, and technical assessments.
- Coordinate troubleshooting and issue resolution with technical teams.
6. Monitoring & Field Support
- Conduct field visits when required to monitor project implementation.
- Collect feedback from end-users and provide recommendations for system enhancements.
- Track adoption, usage, and performance metrics of deployed systems.
Required Qualifications
- BE / B.Tech / MBA / PGDM / Post-Graduate degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any relevant technical discipline.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in IT projects, digital transformation, or technology consulting.
- Must have worked in at least one Central or State Government project in areas such as:
- IT implementation
- System integration
- e-Governance
- Digital platforms
- Technology-enabled service delivery
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of IT systems, software development lifecycle, and digital solution deployment.
- Knowledge of e-governance frameworks, IT infrastructure, cloud services, and cybersecurity basics.
- Ability to create technical and functional documentation.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and coordination skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools and documentation platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in fast-paced environments.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in government consulting or large-scale IT transformation programs.
- Understanding of emerging technologies such as AI, automation, data analytics, or cloud solutions.
- Experience working with system integrators and IT vendors.
