Position Summary
Cemindia Projects Limited is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager with 12–15 years of experience in commercial operations, contract management, procurement coordination, cost control, and project commercial functions. The incumbent will be responsible for managing commercial activities across projects, ensuring contractual compliance, optimizing costs, mitigating commercial risks, and supporting project profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Contract Management
- Manage end-to-end commercial activities for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Review, negotiate, and administer contracts, subcontracts, work orders, and service agreements.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company policies.
- Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
Cost Control & Budget Monitoring
- Monitor project budgets, costs, and cash flow.
- Analyze cost variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Support preparation of project cost estimates and commercial proposals.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives across projects.
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Coordinate with procurement teams for sourcing and contracting activities.
- Evaluate commercial bids and participate in vendor negotiations.
- Ensure timely finalization of contracts and purchase orders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and contractors.
Billing & Claims Management
- Monitor customer billing, certification, and collections.
- Review contractor bills and payment recommendations.
- Manage variation orders, claims, and commercial correspondences.
- Support resolution of commercial disputes and contract-related issues.
Project Coordination
- Work closely with project, engineering, finance, and procurement teams.
- Track project commercial performance and profitability.
- Ensure proper documentation and record management for audits and compliance.
MIS & Reporting
- Prepare commercial MIS reports for management review.
- Present project-wise cost, revenue, billing, and collection status.
- Provide commercial insights for strategic decision-making.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure adherence to statutory, legal, and contractual requirements.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Maintain commercial documentation and records in line with company standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Commerce, or Business Administration.
- MBA (Finance/Operations), PGDBM, or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Additional certifications in Contracts Management, Procurement, or Project Management will be an advantage.
Experience
- 12–15 years of experience in commercial management, contracts, procurement, and project commercial functions.
- Experience in industrial, infrastructure, EPC, construction, cement, power, steel, port, or manufacturing sectors preferred.
- Proven track record in handling large-value contracts and commercial negotiations.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of contract management, commercial terms, and project costing.
- Understanding of procurement processes and vendor management.
- Working knowledge of GST, taxation, and commercial compliance.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and MS Office.
