Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Design and Development: Write, modify, and maintain COBOL code for new and existing applications.
Systems Analysis: Analyze system requirements and business processes to determine the best design solutions.
Reverse Engineering: Provide ongoing support for COBOL-based applications, understand the existing code and develop documentation on the logics used in the code.
Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of program design, code, and testing processes.
Collaboration: Work closely with other developers, analysts, customers and project managers to deliver code logic documentations.
Modernization: Assist in the migration and modernization of legacy COBOL systems to newer platforms, as needed.
Compliance: Ensure that all development work adheres to company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in COBOL development.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in COBOL programming language. Familiarity with JCL (Job Control Language) and other mainframe utilities. Knowledge of relational databases and SQL. Understanding of batch and online processing. Experience with debugging tools and performance optimization.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
