Civil Engineer - Facilities Management
Position Overview
We are seeking a Civil Engineer to support our facilities management operations, focusing on maintaining and improving building infrastructure, site systems, and physical assets across our property portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Maintenance and Assessment Conduct condition assessments of building structures, parking areas, roadways, and site utilities. Develop preventive maintenance programs for civil infrastructure systems. Inspect and evaluate structural integrity issues, drainage problems, and site safety concerns.
Project Management Manage capital improvement projects including parking lot repairs, sidewalk replacements, and site utility upgrades. Coordinate with contractors and vendors for maintenance and construction work. Oversee tenant improvement projects that impact building systems or structural elements.
Technical Support and Planning Provide engineering analysis for space planning and building modifications. Review architectural and engineering drawings for renovation projects. Assess load capacity for equipment installations and structural modifications. Support emergency response for infrastructure failures or safety issues.
Compliance and Documentation Ensure facilities comply with building codes, ADA requirements, and safety regulations. Maintain engineering records, as-built drawings, and equipment specifications. Prepare technical reports and recommendations for facility improvements.
Required Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- 2-4 years of experience in construction, facilities, or building systems
- Knowledge of building codes and structural systems
- Experience with facility maintenance operations preferred
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and basic engineering software
- Understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems integration
- Familiarity with building materials and construction methods
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
