Chief Technology Officer (CTO) – AI & Data Platforms

Reporting to: Chief AI Officer
Role Overview
We are seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology strategy and execution with a strong focus on AI and Data Science platforms. Based in Mumbai, this role carries group-wide responsibility for both internal and external platforms, supporting our AI-driven offerings and digital transformation initiatives.
The CTO will play a critical role in industrializing AI and data capabilities, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing platforms that power both internal operations and client-facing solutions.
This is a hybrid role combining technology leadership, platform engineering, and AI enablement.
Key Responsibilities
Technology & AI Strategy
- Define and execute the group's technology strategy with a strong emphasis on AI, data, and analytics platforms
- Partner with AI & Data Science leadership to industrialize models into scalable products and platforms
- Drive innovation in areas such as GenAI, advanced analytics, and data-driven products
Platform Ownership (Internal & Client-Facing)
- Own the architecture and scalability of:
- Internal platforms (data platforms, knowledge systems, AI tooling, internal apps)
- External/client-facing platforms (AI-powered solutions, digital products, client delivery platforms)
- Ensure seamless data pipelines, model deployment, and system integration
- Build reusable, modular, and scalable platform components
AI & Data Platform Engineering
- Lead the development of end-to-end AI/ML platforms (data ingestion, training, deployment, monitoring)
- Establish best practices for:
- MLOps / LLMOps
- Data engineering and governance
- Model lifecycle management
- Ensure reliability, reproducibility, and scalability of AI solutions
Engineering Leadership & Delivery
- Build and lead multidisciplinary teams across:
- Software engineering
- Data engineering
- ML engineering
- Platform & DevOps
- Drive a strong engineering culture focused on quality, speed, and innovation
- Oversee delivery of complex, multi-platform initiatives
Data, Security & Infrastructure
- Define and implement data architecture and governance frameworks
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and AI governance standards
- Oversee cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP), ensuring scalability and cost efficiency
- Implement robust cybersecurity and model risk management practices
Stakeholder & Client Engagement
- Act as a senior technology partner to business and AI leaders
- Support client engagements where deep technology expertise is required
- Translate business and AI use cases into scalable platform solutions
Governance & Operations
- Establish governance frameworks for platform and AI investments
- Manage technology budgets, vendors, and partnerships (including AI/tech ecosystems)
- Track KPIs across platform performance, AI adoption, and delivery excellence
Qualifications & Experience
- Total 12+ yrs of experience with proven experience as a CTO, Head of Engineering, or senior technology leader for a min of 3-5 yrs in AI/data-driven environments
- Strong experience building and scaling AI/ML platforms and data ecosystems
- Deep understanding of:
- Cloud-native architectures
- Data platforms (lakehouse, streaming, etc.)
- MLOps / LLMOps frameworks
- Experience delivering both internal platforms and client-facing digital/AI products
- Strong leadership experience managing cross-functional technical teams
Preferred Experience
- Experience in consulting, digital services, or AI-driven organizations
- Exposure to GenAI and large language model ecosystems
- Experience scaling technology teams in India or global delivery models
