Role Description:
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) based in Mumbai. The CHRO will lead the entire HR function, focusing on organizational building, talent strategy, performance systems, and culture development.
This role requires a builder mindset—someone who can create systems, scale teams, and align people strategy directly with aggressive business growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities:
Organizational Building & Structure
- Design and implement a scalable organizational structure across all functions
- Define clear roles, responsibilities, and reporting hierarchies
- Build strong leadership layers and succession pipelines
Talent Talent Acquisition & Workforce Strategy
- Lead hiring strategy across all levels - from execution to leadership roles
- Build a high-quality talent pipeline focused on performance-driven individuals
- Ensure hiring aligns with company vision, culture, and growth plans
Performance & Culture Development
- Implement KPI/KRA-driven performance management systems
- Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and measurable results
- Strengthen employee engagement while maintaining high performance standards
Leadership Development
- Identify and groom future leaders within the organization
- Build strong mid-level and senior management capabilities
- Establish structured learning and development programs
HR Operations & Compliance
- Oversee HR operations including payroll, policies, and compliance
- Ensure adherence to labor laws and HR best practices
- Build efficient, scalable HR systems and processes
Employee Relations & Retention
- Foster a positive, performance-oriented work environment
- Manage employee relations and resolve conflicts effectively
- Develop strategies to retain top-performing talent
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in Human Resources principles and practices
- Strong experience in HR policy development and implementation
- Proficiency in employee relations and conflict resolution
- Demonstrated success in talent management and succession planning
- Hands-on experience with performance management systems
- Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience in beauty, retail, FMCG, or D2C industry preferred
