We are seeking a seasoned Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with strong experience in the restaurant / food & beverage industry to serve as a strategic business partner to the CEO and Board. The ideal candidate will bring deep financial expertise, operational understanding of multi-unit restaurant businesses, and exceptional stakeholder management skills to drive sustainable growth, profitability, and governance excellence.
This role requires a mature professional who understands not only financial controls and compliance, but also unit economics, margins, cost controls, scalability, and operational realities of the restaurant industry, along with leadership alignment and decision-making at the highest levels.
Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board on financial strategy, expansion planning, and long-term value creation in the restaurant business.
Support decisions related to store rollouts, franchising models, menu profitability, and pricing strategies.
Provide pragmatic financial guidance in high-stakes and operationally complex environments.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance across multiple restaurant units / outlets.
Drive strong cost controls across food cost, labor cost, rentals, and overheads.
Ensure robust internal controls, statutory compliance, and governance frameworks.
Lead audits, regulatory interactions, and board-level financial reviews.
Build and manage relationships with Board members, investors, bankers, auditors, landlords, and strategic partners.
Work closely with operations, supply chain, and marketing teams to align financial goals with on-ground execution.
Influence outcomes using data-driven insights and clear financial storytelling.
Lead and develop the finance, accounts, and commercial teams across locations.
Partner with senior leadership to manage growth, scale operations, and improve unit-level profitability.
Foster a culture of accountability, cost consciousness, and strategic collaboration.
Anticipate and manage financial, operational, and compliance risks specific to the restaurant industry.
Handle sensitive matters such as cash controls, shrinkage, vendor risks, and margin volatility.
Support the organization during expansion, restructuring, or market challenges.
Chartered Accountant / CPA / CFA / MBA (Finance) or equivalent.
15+ years of progressive finance experience, preferably with exposure to restaurant, QSR, hospitality, or retail chains.
Proven experience working with Boards, promoters, or private equity / investor-led organizations.
Strong understanding of restaurant unit economics, P&L management, and compliance frameworks.
Strong commercial and operational acumen.
Strategic thinking with hands-on execution mindset.
High emotional intelligence and stakeholder sensitivity.
Strong influencing, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
Ability to manage ambiguity in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
