Job Description

Our client is an early stage B2C Buildig Material Marketplace backed by a well-established business group. The CEO will lead strategy, operations, and growth of the e-commerce mobile platform for building materials retail, focusing on marketing, dealer networks, and partnerships to drive revenue and expansion.

Key Responsibilities

1. Revenue & GMV Growth

  • Drive Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) growth across key building material categories such as cement, steel, pipes, tiles, paints, and other construction materials.
  • Increase transaction volumes and expand the overall marketplace footprint.
  • Develop and grow multiple revenue streams including: ○ Marketplace commissions ○ Logistics and delivery margins ○ Private label products and exclusive offerings
  • Identify new monetization opportunities across the supply chain.

2. Supply-Side Expansion

  • Onboard manufacturers, distributors, and dealers across major building material categories.
  • Build strong and long-term partnerships with leading brands in cement, steel, paints, and other construction materials.
  • Expand supplier base to ensure competitive pricing and reliable supply.
  • Improve SKU depth and product assortment across categories.
  • Ensure consistent product availability across multiple cities and markets.

3. Marketplace Liquidity & Network Effects

  • Maintain the right balance between supply and demand across the platform.
  • Improve buyer conversion rates and transaction success rates.
  • Ensure high order fulfillment reliability and reduce supply gaps.
  • Strengthen pricing transparency to build trust with buyers.
  • Improve product discovery and comparison for better buyer decision-making.

4. Logistics & Fulfilment Efficiency

  • Build an efficient logistics network optimized for heavy building materials.
  • Improve delivery timelines and ensure reliable last-mile delivery to construction sites.
  • Optimize freight costs through route planning and volume efficiencies.
  • Develop partnerships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and fleet operators.
  • Build scalable logistics infrastructure to support marketplace growth.

5. Technology & Platform Development

  • Enhance the digital marketplace experience for both buyers and suppliers.
  • Improve platform usability, transaction flow, and operational reliability.
  • Use data analytics to enable better: ○ Pricing insights ○ Demand forecasting ○ Supply planning
  • Continuously improve platform capabilities to support marketplace scalability.

6. Leadership & Organization Building

  • Build a strong leadership team across key functions including: ○ Technology ○ Supply chain ○ Operations ○ Category management
  • Recruit and develop high-performing teams across the organization.
  • Foster a performance-driven and entrepreneurial culture.
  • Align teams around long-term growth, innovation, and operational excellence.
