Job Summary
The Academic Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and enhancing the academic programs of the school in alignment with CBSE guidelines, NEP 2020, and the school's vision and objectives. The role involves supporting teachers, ensuring curriculum implementation, maintaining academic standards, overseeing assessments, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Planning and Curriculum Management
- Oversee the implementation of the CBSE curriculum across assigned grades and subjects.
- Develop annual academic plans, curriculum maps, lesson plan frameworks, and academic calendars.
- Ensure alignment of teaching-learning processes with CBSE competency-based education and NEP 2020 guidelines.
- Review and standardize lesson plans, worksheets, projects, and learning resources.
Teaching and Learning Excellence
- Support teachers in planning and delivering effective classroom instruction.
- Promote innovative, experiential, and student-centered teaching methodologies.
- Facilitate the integration of technology into teaching and learning.
Assessment and Academic Monitoring
- Plan and coordinate formative and summative assessments.
- Analyze student performance data and recommend interventions for improvement.
Teacher Development and Mentoring
- Mentor and guide teachers in curriculum implementation and classroom management.
- Organize professional development programs, workshops, and training sessions.
- Support teacher appraisal and performance improvement initiatives.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to CBSE norms, policies, and academic standards.
- Maintain academic records, documentation, and reports required by CBSE and school management.
- Coordinate preparations for CBSE inspections, audits, and accreditation processes.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Coordinate timetables, examination schedules, and academic events.
- Collaborate with coordinators, department heads, counselors, and school administrators.
- Assist the Principal in strategic academic planning and school improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in a relevant academic discipline.
- B.Ed./ M.Ed. from a recognized institution is mandatory.
- Additional qualifications in Educational Leadership, Curriculum Development, or School Administration are desirable.
Experience
- Minimum 8-10 years of teaching experience in a CBSE school.
- At least 3 years of experience as Academic Coordinator or CBSE Coordinator
- Thorough knowledge of CBSE curriculum frameworks, assessments, and educational policies.
