External Job Title: Category Manager

Job Summary: As a Category Manager at Amazon, you'll be responsible for the customer experience and growth of your assigned category. You'll curate product assortments, design promotions, manage partnerships, and develop long-term growth strategies. This role requires a blend of analytical skills, creative problem-solving, and strong leadership to anticipate customer needs and drive category performance.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute category strategies to enhance customer experience and drive growth
  • Manage relationships with sellers and brands to expand product offerings
  • Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to inform decision-making
  • Design and implement targeted promotions to increase category performance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve processes and drive innovation

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in retail, operations, product management, or business consulting
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiations and delivering results
  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing large data sets to drive performance improvements
  • Background in vendor negotiations, pricing strategies, and inventory management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional projects
  • Adaptable mindset with a passion for solving complex problems

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of with Excel experience
  • 5+ years of retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results experience
  • Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience
  • Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing large data sets and utilizing to drive performance and process improvements
  • Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
