Job Description
The Business Systems Analyst (Revenue Systems) will support the administration, optimization, and enhancement of the company's revenue systems, with a primary focus on Zuora Revenue (RevPro) and upstream billing and ERP integrations. This role partners closely with Revenue Accounting, Finance, Engneering and IT to ensure accurate revenue recognition, compliance with ASC 606, and scalable, well-controlled revenue processes in a public company environment.
This is a hands-on role supporting month-end and quarter-end close, troubleshooting revenue issues, maintaining system configurations, and driving continuous improvements across revenue workflows.
Core Responsibilities
- Revenue Systems Support: Administer and support revenue recognition systems (primarily RevPro), including rules configuration, templates, allocation logic, and event processing.
- Month-End Close Support: Actively support revenue close activities by monitoring RevPro processing, resolving errors, researching revenue discrepancies, and assisting Revenue Accounting with reconciliations and analysis.
- Data & Integration Management: Support data flows between billing systems, CRM, and ERP, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of revenue data.
- Issue Resolution & Root Cause Analysis: Investigate revenue variances, system defects, and data issues perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable fixes.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate and streamline revenue processes, improve close timelines, and reduce manual adjustments.
- Reporting & Analysis: Support standard and ad hoc revenue reporting, including deferred revenue, backlog, and revenue waterfalls.
- Controls & Compliance: Support SOX compliance for revenue systems, including execution of IT Application Controls (ITACs), User Access Reviews (UARs), and audit evidence preparation in partnership with Internal and External Audit.
- Change Management: Participate in system enhancements, upgrades, and new product launches by supporting requirements gathering, testing (UAT), and deployment.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-4+ years of experience in a business systems, revenue operations, or revenue accounting support role, preferably in a public company environment.
- Revenue Systems Expertise: Hands-on experience with Zuora Revenue (RevPro) strongly preferred experience with billing systems (Zuora Billing, Recurly, Stripe, etc.) and ERP integrations a plus.
- Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition concepts and revenue accounting workflows.
- Technical Skills: Experience with system configurations, data analysis, reconciliations, and troubleshooting complex data issues.
- Collaboration & Communication: Ability to translate accounting and business requirements into system solutions and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail Orientation: Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a close-driven environment.
