Business Development Lead

Position: Business Development Lead

Organization: Reputed top deemed university in India

Location: Nerul, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra

Type: Full-time, Senior Leadership

Reports to: Management / Chancellor

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Growth Roadmap & Ecosystem Leadership

  • Architect and execute a comprehensive 5-year business development strategy to establish the university as India's premier edu-healthcare innovation ecosystem.
  • Drive diversified revenue streams through strategic partnerships, global market penetration, and next-generation program portfolios.
  • Position the institution as a global thought leader by integrating education, healthcare, AI, sustainability, and research excellence.

2. High-Impact Relationship Management

  • Cultivate C-suite relationships with Fortune 500 corporates for industry-sponsored programs, placements, leadership training, and R&D collaborations.
  • Forge strategic alliances with top international universities for dual-degree programs, student/faculty exchanges, joint research centers, and global accreditation pathways.
  • Secure philanthropic funding and impact investments from foundations, HNIs, and development agencies for social innovation and healthcare access initiatives.

3. Expansion & Revenue Diversification Initiatives

  • Spearhead transformative launches: cutting-edge online/hybrid degrees, executive education portfolios, and specialized certifications in AI-healthtech, sustainability, and digital transformation.
  • Lead international market entry strategies including targeted recruitment from high-growth regions (Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa) and offshore campus feasibility.
  • Pioneer revenue diversification through consulting services, corporate training academies, sponsored innovation labs, and IP commercialization.

4. Market Intelligence & Competitive Positioning

  • Conduct continuous horizon scanning of global edtech-healthtech trends, competitor benchmarking, and regulatory landscapes.
  • Identify and capitalize on emerging opportunities in AI-driven healthcare, sustainable development goals (SDGs), and Industry 4.0 skilling.
  • Develop proprietary market insights to maintain first-mover advantage and thought leadership positioning.

5. Performance Metrics, Analytics & Executive Reporting

  • Establish and track strategic KPIs: partnership pipeline value, conversion rates, lifetime ROI, revenue attribution, and ecosystem impact metrics.
  • Deliver quarterly strategic dashboards and foresight reports to Chancellor/Management, translating data into actionable growth recommendations.
  • Drive continuous optimization through A/B testing of BD strategies, partnership health scores, and revenue forecasting models.

Desired Profile:

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 15+ years in business development/strategic partnerships, preferably in higher education, healthcare, or professional services.
  • Proven track record scaling revenue 3X+ through global partnerships and market expansion.
  • MBA or equivalent from top-tier institution; international exposure highly preferred.
