Role Description
We are looking for a Business Development Executive / Manager to bring in new business for both FirstCut Design Studio and BrandAid Events.
The person will be responsible for identifying potential clients, reaching out to decision-makers, setting up meetings, understanding client requirements, and helping convert opportunities into business.
This role requires someone who is confident, proactive, and comfortable representing both a creative design studio and a corporate events company.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5–7 years of experience in business development, sales, client servicing, partnerships, or key account management.
- Industry background: Prior experience in a branding agency, design studio, advertising agency, event management company, experiential marketing agency, marketing services company, or B2B services company will be preferred.
- Client-facing experience: Should have experience interacting with senior stakeholders such as founders, CXOs, marketing heads, HR heads, procurement teams, and business decision-makers.
- Business development skills: Should be comfortable with lead generation, cold outreach, networking, follow-ups, pitching, proposal coordination, negotiation, and closure.
- Understanding of services: Should have a basic understanding of branding, design, marketing communication, corporate events, MICE, employee engagement, and experiential marketing.
- Communication skills: Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain ideas clearly and confidently.
- Presentation skills: Should be able to present company capabilities, service offerings, and proposal ideas in a professional manner.
- Relationship-building ability: Should be able to build trust with new clients and maintain long-term relationships with existing clients.
- Sales mindset: Must be target-oriented, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of business growth.
- Organizational skills: Should be able to maintain a clear pipeline of leads, meetings, proposals, follow-ups, and closures.
- Collaboration: Should be able to coordinate with internal teams across strategy, design, content, production, and events to develop relevant client solutions.
Expecations:
- Identify and reach out to potential clients through calls, emails, LinkedIn, networking, referrals, and research.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of leads, meetings, proposals, and closures.
- Set up meetings and present the services of FirstCut Design Studio and BrandAid Events.
- Understand client requirements and coordinate with internal teams to create relevant proposals.
- Follow up consistently with prospects and help move conversations towards closure.
- Build long-term client relationships and identify opportunities for repeat business.
- Look for cross-selling opportunities between FirstCut Design Studio and BrandAid Events.
- Work towards monthly, quarterly, and annual business targets.
