Our solutions focus on shipment visibility, lifecycle tracking, documentation flow, alerts, and operational intelligence purpose-built for exporters, importers, freight forwarders, transporters, and logistics operators.

We solve real world industry problems using automation, data, and domain expertise. As we scale across the logistics and supply chain ecosystem, we are looking for industry-experienced sales professionals who understand how these businesses operate and what their challenges are.

Role Overview

Business Development / Sales Manager

We are hiring a domain-driven Sales / Business Development professional with hands-on exposure to freight forwarding, EXIM, transportation, or logistics operations.

This role requires someone who can:

  • Speak the language of freight forwarders
  • Understand shipment lifecycles, documentation, costing, and coordination
  • Sell solutions, not just software licenses

Key Responsibilities

1. Freight-Focused Lead Generation

  • Identify and engage with freight forwarders, CHAs, exporters, importers, transporters, and logistics companies
  • Leverage personal industry network to open doors with owners, directors, and operations heads
  • Build pipeline across regional and mid-enterprise freight players

2. Consultative Sales

  • Understand real-world freight workflows:
  • Shipment booking
  • Documentation & compliance
  • Customs coordination
  • Tracking, delays, exceptions
  • Billing & cost leakage
  • Position CargoClave as a visibility, control, and efficiency platform, not just another tool
  • Conduct product demos aligned to actual operational pain points

3. Sales Cycle Ownership

  • Own the full cycle: prospecting demo proposal negotiation closure
  • Work closely with founders, product, and implementation teams
  • Handle mid-cycle to long-cycle sales common in freight and logistics SaaS

4. Partnerships & Market Expansion

  • Build relationships with:
  • Freight forwarding associations
  • Logistics consultants
  • ERP / TMS / accounting ecosystem players
  • Drive referrals, co-selling, and joint demos

5. Market & Product Feedback

  • Bring customer insights from the field to:
  • Improve product roadmap
  • Refine positioning and messaging
  • Identify new freight use cases

Desired Candidate Profile

Background

  • 38 years of experience in:
  • Freight forwarding
  • Logistics / transportation
  • EXIM operations
  • Logistics tech / ERP / TMS sales
  • Prior exposure to:
  • ExportImport workflows
  • Road / rail / multimodal logistics
  • Coordination with CHAs, carriers, and customers

Skills

  • Strong relationship-based selling
  • Ability to explain freight workflows + technology together
  • Commercial understanding of pricing, margins, and value selling
  • Comfortable interacting with owners, directors, ops heads

Mindset

  • Domain-first, solution-oriented
  • Entrepreneurial and self-driven
  • Comfortable working in a startup / scale-up environment
  • Willing to build market presence from the ground up

Education (Preferred)

  • MBA / PGDM in Sales, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Operations
  • OR Graduate with strong freight forwarding / logistics experience.
