Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Manager role based in Chennai. The Business Development Manager will identify and pursue new business opportunities in target markets, particularly in sectors requiring sewage treatment and water management solutions. Responsibilities include generating and qualifying leads, conducting client meetings and presentations, preparing proposals and negotiating contracts to close deals. The role involves collaborating with technical and operations teams to understand product capabilities, customize solutions, and ensure a smooth transition from sales to project execution. It involves site recce and knowledge with CAD and layout understanding. The Business Development Manager will also track market trends, build strong customer relationships, and maintain accurate sales reports and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or key account management, preferably in environmental services, water treatment, infrastructure, or related industrial sectors.
  • Strong skills in lead generation, pipeline management, and sales negotiation, with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical solutions, including modular or IoT-enabled systems, in clear business terms to diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
  • Comfort working on-site in Chennai, with readiness to travel to client locations as needed for meetings, site visits, and project discussions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent business qualification is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with proficiency in CRM tools and standard office productivity software.
  • Self-driven, collaborative, and adaptable, with a commitment to ethical business practices and sustainable infrastructure solutions.
  • Review and interpret CAD drawings, layouts, P&IDs, and technical documents for project assessment and proposal preparation.
