Role Overview
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive growth and partnerships in the India market. You will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and closing enterprise clients — particularly large IT services companies, global capability centers (GCCs), and technology organizations.
Your focus will be on selling data annotation services, voice data collection, audio transcription, dataset creation, and AI training data solutions. This is a hunter role for someone who understands the AI/ML data services landscape and has existing relationships within India's enterprise technology ecosystem.
What You Will Do
Sales & Revenue Generation
- Own and exceed quarterly revenue targets for data annotation and voice data projects in the India market
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline from prospecting through contract closure
- Identify and qualify opportunities within enterprise IT services companies, BPOs, GCCs, and technology organizations requiring data annotation, voice data collection, transcription services, and AI training datasets
- Lead commercial negotiations, pricing discussions, and contract terms with procurement and project stakeholders
- Develop account strategies for key enterprise clients to drive recurring revenue and expand wallet share
Relationship Building & Account Management
- Leverage existing relationships within large IT services firms, global technology companies, and enterprise organizations
- Build strong relationships with decision-makers in AI/ML teams, project managers, procurement heads, and technology leaders
- Conduct discovery meetings to understand client requirements for annotation projects (image, video, audio, text, LiDAR), voice data collection, transcription services, and custom dataset creation
- Act as a trusted advisor, understanding client pain points and positioning tailored solutions
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Stay informed on industry trends in AI/ML, data annotation, voice technology, LLM training data, and speech recognition markets
- Track competitor activity, pricing models, and market positioning
- Provide feedback to internal teams on market demands, client preferences, and product/service enhancement opportunities
- Identify new verticals and use cases for data annotation and voice data services (automotive, healthcare, finance, e-commerce, conversational AI, etc.)
Collaboration & Execution
- Work closely with delivery teams to ensure smooth project onboarding and client satisfaction
- Coordinate with operations and annotation teams to scope projects accurately and deliver on commitments
- Partner with marketing to develop case studies, proposals, and collateral tailored to the India enterprise market
- Provide accurate sales forecasting and pipeline reporting to leadership
You Must Have
- 4-6 years of B2B sales or business development experience in data services, AI/ML solutions, BPO services, IT services, or technology consulting
- Proven experience selling to or working within large enterprise IT services organizations, global technology companies, or Fortune 500 accounts
- Domain knowledge in data annotation, voice data collection, transcription services, dataset creation, or AI training data — either as a seller or buyer
- Existing network within India's enterprise IT, BPO, and technology ecosystem, with warm relationships at manager/director/VP levels
- Hunter mentality — comfortable with cold outreach, prospecting, and building pipeline from scratch
- Strong negotiation skills — ability to navigate complex procurement processes and close deals ranging from $50K to $500K+ ACV
- Excellent communication — fluent in English and Hindi; able to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and commercial value to C-suite executives.
Self-starter — comfortable working independently, managing your own pipeline, and driving results with minimal supervision.
Strong Plus
- Prior experience working in or selling to large IT services companies, global technology firms, or enterprise BPOs.
- Experience selling annotation services for computer vision, NLP, speech recognition, or autonomous vehicle projects.
- Familiarity with annotation tools (Labelbox, Scale AI, V7, SuperAnnotate) and data labeling workflows.
- Understanding of voice data collection for ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition), TTS (Text-to-Speech), or conversational AI applications.
- Previous experience in a startup or high-growth environment.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
- Knowledge of additional Indian regional languages.
