Job Description

Job Summary

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving and expanding sales of pharmaceutical formulations across CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) countries. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, strengthening distributor networks, managing commercial operations, and identifying new business opportunities in assigned markets. The ideal candidate must have strong international sales experience in formulations, especially in CIS regions.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Achieve annual sales targets and profitability objectives for assigned CIS markets.
  • Grow sales volumes through existing distributors and by onboarding new partners.
  • Identify and penetrate new markets, institutions, and tender opportunities.
  • Conduct periodic sales reviews and forecast demand for key products.
  • Monitor sales performance by channel, product category, and country.

Marketing & Strategy

  • Develop country-specific marketing strategies for CIS markets.
  • Analyse market insights, pricing trends, and competitive activity.
  • Identify portfolio gaps and propose new products for registration based on market needs.

Market Expansion & Business Development

  • Identify new business opportunities and drive market entry initiatives.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, pricing benchmarks, and competitor activities.
  • Explore product gaps and recommend new formulations for introduction in CIS markets.
  • Conduct market visits to strengthen relationships and gather market intelligence.

Partner & Distributor Management

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with distributors, agents, and institutional buyers.
  • Evaluate distributor performance and ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Facilitate onboarding, training, and support for new partners.
  • Resolve commercial issues and ensure smooth business operations.

Regulatory & Documentation

  • Coordinate with regulatory affairs to support product registration across CIS Markets.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory guidelines for pharmaceutical formulations.
  • Manage dossier submissions, technical queries, and regulatory follow-ups.
  • Work closely with partners to ensure smooth and timely registration processes.

Commercial Operations

  • Lead price negotiations, commercial deals, and contract finalizations.
  • Manage order processing, supply chain coordination, and timely dispatches.
  • Ensure efficient handling of tenders, quotations, and commercial proposals.
  • Track receivables, credit limits, and ensure adherence to payment terms.

Coordination & Internal Alignment

  • Work closely with supply chain, finance, regulatory, and product management teams to support sales execution.
  • Provide market insights for sales planning, budgeting, and strategic discussions.
  • Support regulatory teams with country-specific insights required for product registrations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, or related fields (MBA preferred).
  • 510 years of experience in international sales of pharmaceutical formulations.
  • Proven experience in CIS markets is strongly preferred.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Exposure to distributor management and tender business.
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Russian is an added advantage.
