Business Development Executive IoT / Product Engineering Services

We are looking for a highly driven Business Development Executive to accelerate revenue growth by expanding our market presence and driving sales of our IoT, Product Engineering, and Software Services offerings. The ideal candidate should have a strong track record in technology services sales across both hardware and software domains, along with proven success in selling Product Engineering Services.

Candidates whose experience is limited only to implementation or support services will not be considered.

Role Overview

The Business Development Executive will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, leading sales efforts, and contributing to the overall growth strategy of the organization. This is a client-facing role requiring strong market understanding, consultative selling skills, and the ability to engage with decision-makers across industries. Extensive travel is part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive business growth by promoting the company's services and solutions to prospective clients across target markets.
  • Support the development and execution of sales strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify, qualify, and acquire new clients across enterprises and relevant stakeholder groups.
  • Leverage existing industry relationships and develop new connections in sectors relevant to Merjio use cases, such as Water & Wastewater, Mining, Cement, Oil & Gas, and similar industries.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage sales and lead generation teams to achieve and exceed sales goals.
  • Build and maintain strong long-term client relationships, ensuring high customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Develop a solid understanding of the company's IoT, data science, product engineering, and software service offerings.
  • Stay updated on market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.
  • Prepare and enhance sales collateral including presentations, proposals, case studies, and solution documents.
  • Track sales performance, generate reports, and provide insights to improve pipeline quality, conversion rates, and revenue growth.

Required Qualifications

  • 4-7 years of relevant experience in selling technology services and solutions across industry verticals.
  • Proven background in Product Engineering and Software Services sales.
  • Strong understanding of IoT technologies, hardware-software integrated solutions, and digital transformation services.
  • Good professional network and industry access in one or more of the following sectors: Water & Wastewater, Mining, Cement, Oil & Gas, or related industrial domains.
  • Demonstrated success in engaging with decision-makers, enterprise stakeholders, and leadership teams.
  • Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets in markets such as North America, Europe, and India.
  • Strong experience in leading and managing sales teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Good analytical and market research capabilities with a data-driven approach to sales planning.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a strong focus on revenue generation and business expansion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or relevant certifications in Sales, Marketing, Business, or related fields.
  • Exposure to industrial sectors where connected systems, predictive maintenance, asset monitoring, or operational intelligence solutions are relevant.
