Job Description: Business Development Executive Energy & Sustainability

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly driven Business Development Executive to lead market expansion, build strategic partnerships, and accelerate the adoption of energysaving technologies. This role is perfect for a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about energy efficiency and sustainability.

You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing client relationships, and closing highvalue projects in commercial, industrial, educational, and multisite sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Drive growth of Future First Energy's core offerings:
  • LED lighting retrofits
  • Energy audits and assessments
  • Utility rebate and incentive management
  • Green Building Certification and energy efficiency consulting services
  • Generate and qualify new leads through outreach, networking, partnerships, and industry events.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline to meet monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, project scopes, and ROI analyses tailored to client needs.
  • Present solutions to facility managers, property owners, executive leadership, and procurement teams.

Client Relationship Management

  • Cultivate long-term relationships with prospective and existing customers.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on energy savings, sustainability, and building performance.
  • Conduct site visits with internal project and engineering teams as needed.
  • Guide clients through the full sales cyclefrom first contact to contract execution.

Market Awareness & Strategy

  • Stay up to date on new technologies, incentive programs, and sustainability trends.
  • Identify new markets, verticals, and partnership opportunities to expand the company's footprint.
  • Monitor competitor activity and suggest strategies to strengthen Future First Energy's position.

Collaboration & Internal Support

  • Work closely with operations, engineering, and leadership to ensure accurate project scoping.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, reporting, and pipeline updates.
  • Offer feedback to marketing to support campaigns, materials, and outreach tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Energy, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent handson experience.
  • 25 years of B2B sales or business development experience (energy sector preferred).
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven track record of meeting targets and closing deals.
  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple active opportunities.
  • Passion for energy efficiency, sustainability, and customer success.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience selling or promoting LED lighting, HVAC, Solar, or related energy solutions.
  • Understanding of utility rebates, incentive programs, or energy savings technologies.
  • Experience working with commercial and industrial building systems.
  • Familiarity with ESG, decarbonization strategies, or sustainability reporting.
