Job Overview
As a Business Analyst - Business Banking at Emirates NBD, your role is to collaborate with the Product Owner to design and deliver seamless SME lending journeys, with a strong focus on credit assessment and risk evaluation. Leveraging expertise in SME financing and agile delivery, the role will drive data-driven, AI-enabled solutions that simplify credit access and lifecycle management. Working closely with product teams, RMs, VRMs, Credit Risk, Analytics, and Technology teams, the analyst will ensure innovative, customer-centric lending experiences that support SME growth.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Agile DeliveryAssist the Product Owner in requirements elicitation and backlog grooming.
- Write clear, concise, and technically sound user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
- Act as a Functional Test Lead, validating that delivered features meet business expectations.
- Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to ensure intuitive and user-centric design.
AI-First Strategy & Tech Enablement
- Support the integration of AI tools and capabilities into RM/VRM workflows.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of AI tools and their application in business banking.
- Work with Advanced Analytics teams to translate insights into actionable features.
Stakeholder CollaborationEngage with cross functional teams, RMs, VRMs, and business stakeholders to understand pain points and opportunities.
- Coordinate with developers, architects, and QA teams to ensure alignment and delivery.
- Facilitate communication between business and technical teams to resolve issues and clarify requirements.
Quality Assurance & TestingConduct comprehensive production sanity checks involving pilot clients prior to launch.
- Define and execute test cases based on acceptance criteria.
- Act as a gatekeeper for user story certification, ensuring all conditions are met before release.
Continuous ImprovementMonitor KPIs and product performance metrics post-launch.
- Iterate on user stories and backlog items based on feedback and evolving business needs.
- Document lessons learned and contribute to process improvements.
- Analyze and understand complex technology ecosystems, identifying opportunities for integration and enhancement.
- Collaborate with IT and business teams to align technology solutions with business objectives.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in technology ecosystems, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Utilize your in-depth knowledge of banking processes and systems to analyze, design, and optimize business workflows.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on banking regulations, compliance, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and define business requirements, translating them into functional specifications and technical user stories.
- Establish and manage relationships with third-party service providers, ensuring their services align with business needs and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with fintech partners to integrate innovative solutions into the bank's technology ecosystem.
- Engage with government organizations to ensure compliance with regional regulations and leverage governmental support for technological initiatives.

- Contribute to innovation with initiation of new features and products as part of product rollouts/upgrade.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in program or project management, preferably in banking or fintech.
- Familiarity with AI tools and their practical application in business contexts.
- Exposure to the Middle East banking market is highly desirable, especially in the space of SME.
- Ability to translate business discussions for technical teams and likewise, technical discussions for business stakeholders
- Strong understanding of banking processes, systems, and regulatory requirements, particularly within the Middle East.
- Demonstrated experience working in an Agile environment and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Proficiency in tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and other Agile project management tools
