Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Bookkeeper to manage the financial records for our UK-based operations. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated professional with extensive knowledge of UK accounting principles, tax regulations, and proficiency in modern accounting software. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial books, preparing VAT returns, and generating financial reports to support our business functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the company's financial records, including purchase and sales ledgers, general ledger, and journals.
  • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns in compliance with HMRC's Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice processing, payments, and credit control.
  • Manage employee expense claims and company credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial reports, such as Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and categorised.
  • Maintain an orderly and transparent financial filing system.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, specifically working with UK-based companies.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK accounting standards, principles, and VAT regulations.
  • High proficiency in the major accounting software platform onXero.
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero is required.
  • Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
  • Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AAT, ICB, or equivalent bookkeeping qualification.
  • Experience with UK payroll processing and related compliance.
  • Familiarity with other UK-specific accounting tools or apps.

Work Schedule

  • Working Hours:9:00 AM to 5:00 PM UK Time
  • Working Days:Monday to Friday
  • Pay Rs. 40,000/-45000/- INR per month
