Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage multiple client assignments with competing deadlines
• Reconcile bank accounts and corporate credit cards monthly
• Maintain prepaid schedule, calculate prepaid amortization and book associated journal entries monthly
• Maintain capital asset continuity schedule, prepare and book capital asset amortization monthly
• Prepare and process payroll each pay period
• Ensure payroll filings, e.g. T4s, are filed accurately and on time
• Ensure all vendor invoices are accurately and completely entered into the accounting software prior to each pay run, leveraging automation
• Prepare the accounts payable pay run bi-weekly
• Review and process all expense reports, leveraging automation
• Prepare and remit Canadian sales tax returns
• Address vendor and employee queries regarding accounts payable as requested
• Address employee queries regarding payroll as requested
• Preparing financial reports for management monthly and for the banks as required
• Support year-end activities
• Support audit engagement through the provisioning of requested documentation and supporting files and responding to queries as requested

Qualifications/Requirements

• 2-3 years bookkeeping experience is required
• University degree
• Excellent Excel skills
• Attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Interest in being mentored
• Ability to work a shift that overlaps with client time zone, e.g. Eastern Standard Time.
• Prior experience bookkeeping in QBO and/or Xero is an asset
