Biochemist – AI Data Trainer
About The Role
What if your expertise in protein folding, enzyme kinetics, or metabolic pathways could directly shape how the world's most advanced AI models think about science
Alignerr partners with leading AI research labs to build and refine cutting-edge language models — and we need PhD-level Biochemists to help us get the science right. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role where your deep domain knowledge becomes the benchmark for AI accuracy.
No AI background required. Just bring your scientific rigor.
- Organization: Alignerr
- Type: Hourly Contract
- Location: Remote
- Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Design Expert-Level Problems — Craft advanced biochemistry challenges spanning nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, structural biology, and drug-target interactions to stress-test AI reasoning.
- Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Write rigorous, step-by-step scientific responses that serve as the gold standard for AI model training and benchmarking.
- Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and quantitative analyses for technical accuracy, logical consistency, and scientific soundness.
- Refine AI Reasoning — Identify flaws in AI thinking — such as incorrect stoichiometry, stereochemical errors, or flawed metabolic logic — and provide structured, actionable feedback to improve model performance.
Who You Are
- PhD-level expertise: You hold (or are in the final stages of completing) a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related discipline.
- Deep domain knowledge: You have strong command of at least one core area — structural biology, enzymology, cellular metabolism, bioinformatics, or molecular genetics.
- Precise communicator: You can translate highly technical biochemical concepts into clear, well-structured written explanations.
- Detail-oriented: You catch errors others miss — whether it's a miscalculated Km value or an incorrect stereocenter assignment.
- No AI experience required — we'll give you everything you need to get started.
Nice to Have
- Experience with data annotation, quality evaluation, or scientific peer review
- Familiarity with computational tools such as PyMOL, AlphaFold, or BLAST
- Background in science writing, technical documentation, or curriculum development
