About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Backend Lead to join our dynamic team in Kolkata. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust server-side applications that form the backbone of our client solutions. As a Backend Lead, you will be responsible for guiding a team of developers, ensuring code quality, and implementing best practices in software development. This role requires a deep understanding of Java and related frameworks, as well as familiarity with cloud platforms and container orchestration tools. Your expertise will directly impact the success of our projects, helping us deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance applications that meet client expectations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, project managers, and QA engineers to ensure seamless integration and deployment of solutions.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 10-12 years of professional experience in backend development. A strong educational background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields is essential. Proficiency in Java programming language and experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, and MVC are mandatory. Candidates should have hands-on experience with cloud services, particularly Azure, and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, and CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps is required. Additionally, expertise in managing and optimizing databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, or SQL Server is essential. Strong problem-solving skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment are highly valued. Certifications related to Java, cloud platforms, or DevOps practices will be considered an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and maintainable server-side applications using Java and frameworks like Spring Boot, Hibernate, and MVC.
- Lead and mentor a team of backend developers, providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with front-end teams, product managers, and stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to streamline development and deployment processes.
- Manage and optimize database systems for performance, reliability, and security, including MySQL, MongoDB, and SQL Server.
- Utilize tools such as Git, Docker, and Kubernetes to facilitate version control, containerization, and orchestration of applications.
- Ensure the security, scalability, and high availability of applications through best practices and continuous improvement.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain high quality standards.
- Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in backend development and cloud computing to continuously enhance the team's capabilities.
