Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned professional with deep expertise in
Azure and VMware technologies, specifically focusing on
Azure VMware Solution (AVS) services. The ideal candidate will lead enterprise-scale AVS deployments, migrations, and hybrid cloud strategies, while serving as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on AVS adoption and optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Design: Architect and implement enterprise-grade AVS solutions, integrating VMware workloads seamlessly with Azure cloud services.
- Migration Expertise: Lead VMware-to-AVS migration projects, ensuring minimal downtime, cost optimization, and security compliance.
- Hybrid Cloud Strategy: Design hybrid architectures combining on-premises VMware environments with Azure AVS for scalability and resiliency.
- Performance Optimization: Drive infrastructure optimization, capacity planning, and cost management for AVS workloads.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with C-level executives, cloud architects, and technical teams to define AVS strategy and roadmap.
- Security & Compliance: Implement governance, identity, and compliance controls for AVS deployments in regulated industries.
- Knowledge Sharing: Conduct POCs, workshops, and training sessions for internal teams and customers on AVS capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 12+ years in IT Infrastructure / Cloud with strong background in VMware and Azure.
- Azure Expertise: Hands-on experience with Azure services (Networking, Storage, Security, Monitoring, ExpressRoute, etc.).
- VMware Expertise: Strong proficiency in VMware vSphere, vCenter, NSX, vSAN, HCX, and VMware Cloud Foundation.
- AVS Skills: Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing Azure VMware Solution (AVS) environments.
- Migration Tools: Expertise with HCX, Site Recovery, and third-party tools for VMware-to-AVS migrations.
- Automation: Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep) for AVS deployments.
- Data Center Operations: Solid knowledge of networking, storage, and security for hybrid infrastructures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications:
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or higher
- VMware Cloud on Azure / AVS-specific certifications (preferred)
- Consulting Background: Experience delivering AVS solutions through global consulting firms, system integrators, or hyperscaler partnerships.
- Industry Knowledge: Exposure to Financial Services, Healthcare, or other regulated industries.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, customer engagement, and leadership skills with ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Specialized Skills
- Hybrid cloud design and integration (On-prem VMware + AVS + Native Azure).
- Disaster recovery & business continuity solutions using AVS.
- Cost optimization and FinOps strategies for AVS deployments.
- Containerization and Kubernetes integration with VMware & Azure.
