About Us
We are a private, early-stage space startup based in Bengaluru, building a reusable medium-lift launch vehicle to redefine access to space.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Founding Avionics Engineer to lead the development of in-house DAQ, control, and avionics systems for both Rocket systems and its testing requirements. You will build systems across data acquisition, embedded electronics, control, and health monitoring, covering both test infrastructure and engine-level avionics. This is a high-ownership, hands-on role where you design, build, test, and iterate on critical hardware and software systems from scratch.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop end-to-end real-time Data Acquisition Systems (DAQ) for rocket systems and its testing requirements.
- Architect high-speed, synchronized data acquisition for transient and steady-state events
- Design and develop embedded electronics and PCBs for data acquisition, control, and sensor interfacing
- Build sensor interfaces and signal conditioning circuits for reliable data capture
- Develop real-time control systems for engine operations, including sequencing, actuation, and safe shutdown
- Work on engine control systems, including actuator control.
- Implement engine health monitoring systems with real-time diagnostics and fault detection
- Own and execute test operations (instrumentation & control) across the full test infrastructure
- Lead system bring-up, checkout, debugging, countdown, testing, and shutdown
- Troubleshoot issues across electronics, embedded systems, sensors, DAQ, and control loops
- Analyze data to identify anomalies and improve system performance and reliability
- Work with propulsion, mechanical, and AIT teams to define interfaces and requirements.
- Drive rapid iteration cycles through testing, debugging, and system improvements.
Ownership & Impact
- Own DAQ, avionics, instrumentation, and control systems end-to-end
- Build custom hardware and software systems from scratch
- Define architecture across electronics, embedded systems, and test operations
- Make key decisions in a high-ambiguity, early-stage environment
- Own system performance, reliability, and test readiness
- Directly impact engine development and flight-critical systems
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Aerospace, or related field
- 1-3 years of Experience in DAQ, embedded systems, or real-time control systems
- Strong foundation in electronics design, PCB development, and sensor integration
- Experience with high-speed data acquisition and real-time sampling
- Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C++, NI Labview or similar tools
- Experience in hardware-software integration and system-level development
- Strong debugging and system-level thinking
- Ability to build and own systems independently
