Job Requirements
We are looking for Engineers experienced in Automotive sector for our center in Bangalore.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the geometry for manufacturing using technologies such as 3D printing, machining, CNC cutting, or manual construction.
- Collaborate closely with ergonomists, designers, and model makers to ensure the proposed geometry allows for effective physical evaluation.
- Manage design updates based on conceptual decisions, validation feedback, and changes in requirements.
- Create basic technical documentation (simplified drawings, assembly instructions, parts sheets) when necessary for the model workshop.
- Verify dimensional consistency between 3D models and reference data (H-point, accessibility criteria, enclosures, etc.).
- Ensure deadlines are met and provide rapid solutions when the model requires accelerated iterations.
- Prepare model evaluation scenarios according to design requirements and validation protocols.
- Record observations, measurements, problems, and comments during the sessions.
- Analyze the results and prepare ergonomic validation reports (conclusions, deviations, recommendations).
- Present the conclusions to the design, packaging, and ergonomics teams, and to project stakeholders.
- Feasibility analysis of the roof area (front, including headlights, hood, and fenders) and side area (rear door, side panel, fenders and door trim, D-pillar trim, tailgate assembly, and rear bumper assembly) of the exterior surfaces that we will receive periodically from the Design department.
- Feasibility analysis of the interior surfaces (dashboard, door panels, center console, pillar trim, trunk) that we will receive periodically from the Design department.
- Preparation and updating of anchor point files for the areas mentioned above.
- Preparation/updating of conceptual sections, development of Designpasses, and various feasibility studies related to the implementation of the design and/or platform.
- Documentation for these tasks must be generated in the following formats: CATIA and PowerPoint.
- File sharing and documentation must be done via Connect for CAD and Teams for office documentation.
Work Experience
Technical Requirements (Must have): between
3 and 6 years of experience working in automotive sector:
- Proficiency in CAD software (Catia V5/V6, NX, SolidWorks, or similar)Mandatory.
- Knowledge of 3D printing and rapid manufacturing.
- Ability to work with Class A surfaces or styling models when necessary.
- Familiarity with physical mock-ups, prototyping, and workshop processes.
Technical Requirements (Desirable)
- Experience working with CAVA.
- Knowledge of ergonomics applied to interior design.
Personal Skills
- Ability to work in agile and highly iterative environments.
- Fluency in English is essential.
- Excellent communication skills with multidisciplinary teams (ergonomics, design, packaging, workshop).
- Proactive approach to solving technical problems.
- Great attention to detail, precision, and quality.
- Flexibility to adapt to design changes and shifting priorities.
