Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Automation Test Lead
to spearhead our automation testing efforts and ensure the quality and
performance of our software applications. The ideal candidate will possess
a strong technical background in automation frameworks like Selenium
and Playwright with Java/ JavaScript, a solid understanding of non-
functional testing methodologies, and experience integrating automation
into CI/CD pipelines. As a Test Lead, you will be responsible for defining
the automation strategy, leading a team of automation engineers, and
driving the adoption of best practices to deliver high-quality software.
Responsibilities
Automation Strategy & Planning:
Define and implement the overall automation testing strategy and
roadmap for various projects.
Identify suitable test automation frameworks, tools, and technologies
(primarily Selenium and Playwright) based on project requirements.
Estimate automation effort, plan test schedules, and allocate
resources effectively.
Collaborate with stakeholders (Development, QA, Product) to
understand testing needs and align automation efforts.
Automation Framework Development & Maintenance
Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable automation
frameworks using Selenium and Playwright.
Establish coding standards, best practices, and guidelines for
automation scripts.
Ensure the maintainability, reusability, and efficiency of automation
scripts.
Test Script Development & Execution
Lead the development of automated test scripts for functional,
regression, and integration testing.
Oversee the execution of automated test suites and analyze test
results.
Identify, document, and track defects in the defect tracking system.
Work closely with manual testers to identify candidates for
automation.
Non-Functional Testing
Plan, design, and execute non-functional tests, including load testing,
performance testing, and accessibility testing, using appropriate tools
and methodologies.
Analyze non-functional test results and provide actionable insights.
Integrate non-functional testing into the overall testing strategy.
CI/CD Integration
Integrate automation test scripts seamlessly into the CI/CD pipeline
(e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
Ensure automated tests are triggered as part of the build and
deployment process.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation within the
CI/CD environment.
Team Leadership & Mentoring
Lead and mentor a team of automation test engineers, providing
technical guidance and support.
Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure the team meets deadlines.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment within the
team.
Reporting & Analysis
Generate comprehensive automation test reports, including execution
summaries, defect analysis, and coverage metrics.
Present automation progress and findings to stakeholders.
Identify trends and areas for improvement in the testing process.
Continuous Improvement
Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in automation
testing tools and methodologies.
Proactively identify and implement opportunities to improve the
efficiency and effectiveness of the automation process.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
Master's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
5-6 years of hands-on experience in software test automation.
Proven expertise in developing and implementing automation
frameworks using Selenium (with Java, Python, C#, etc.) and
Playwright.
Solid understanding and practical experience in non-functional testing,
including load testing (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner), performance testing,
and accessibility testing (e.g., WCAG guidelines, accessibility testing
tools).
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience integrating
automation testing within them.
Experience with test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Azure
DevOps).
Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java,
JavaScript, Python).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud-based testing platforms.
Knowledge of service virtualization techniques.
Experience with mobile automation testing.
Familiarity with security testing concepts.
Experience leading and mentoring a team of automation testers.
