Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Associate Technical Project Manager / Technical Project Manager to support the effective planning, coordination, and delivery of technical projects by ensuring optimal resource utilisation, project readiness, and adherence to governance standards. The role acts as a key link between stakeholders, technical teams, and PMO functions, enabling smooth project execution while progressively taking ownership of smaller projects and contributing to overall delivery efficiency and operational excellence.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Resource & Project Scheduling
- Manage and optimise the central scheduling of technical resources across Professional Services.
- Allocate resources based on availability, skill sets, and project priorities.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts to maximise utilisation and delivery efficiency.
- Coordinate delivery activities, including deployments and site visits.
2. Project Initiation & Readiness
- Act as a quality gate to ensure project readiness prior to initiation.
- Validate availability of all required inputs, including scope, deliverables, budgets, timelines, and stakeholder alignment.
- Collaborate with Account Managers, Project Managers, and technical teams to ensure seamless project kick-off.
3. Small-Scale Technical Project Delivery
- Manage and deliver small technical projects end-to-end under senior guidance.
- Handle day-to-day client communication and stakeholder coordination.
- Track project progress, risks, and changes while ensuring documentation is up to date.
- Gradually take on larger responsibilities based on performance and experience.
4. Project Coordination & Administration
- Create and maintain project records in HALO, including financial structures and budgets.
- Support procurement and purchasing activities related to projects.
- Monitor change requests and ensure adherence to governance and approval processes.
- Assist in internal planning and prioritisation.
5. Risk & Issue Management
- Identify potential risks, constraints, and issues impacting delivery.
- Escalate critical concerns and support mitigation planning.
- Maintain accurate logs aligned with governance standards.
6. PMO & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Maintain knowledge of internal frameworks, processes, and policies.
- Develop and manage PMO documentation including templates, checklists, and governance artefacts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Service Desk, Infrastructure, Sales, Account Management, and Professional Services.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Certification or training in Project Management is advantageous.
- Willingness to obtain Microsoft AZ-900 and MS-900 certifications (if not already certified).
Requirements
Experience & Knowledge
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in project coordination, scheduling, or operational delivery.
- Experience within IT services, cloud, or technical environments preferred.
- Exposure to Microsoft 365, Azure, infrastructure, or cloud technologies is advantageous.
- Familiarity with resource planning, scheduling tools, or procurement processes is beneficial.
- Interest in leveraging automation or AI tools for efficiency improvements.
