We're seeking an Associate Frontend Engineer to join our Enterprise Merchandising & Pricing Platforms team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of modern, responsive user interfaces using React or Angular, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3, building the web applications that power pricing administration, merchandising workflows, and catalog management tools.
You'll work closely with senior engineers, UX designers, and cross-functional teams to learn, build, and deliver pixel-perfect, accessible interfaces. This role is ideal for an early-career frontend engineer with strong fundamentals, curiosity, and a growth mindset who is eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of responsive web applications using React or Angular with TypeScript.
- Translate wireframes and UI/UX designs into clean, accessible, and pixel-perfect frontend implementations.
- Build and maintain reusable UI components following design system guidelines and component library standards.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented frontend code following team standards and best practices.
- Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, and frontend testing to ensure quality and performance.
- Learn and apply responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and web accessibility (WCAG) standards.
- Learn and apply modern frontend development practices, including CI/CD, Git-based workflows, and Agile methodologies.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, AI code assistants) as part of daily engineering workflows to accelerate development velocity and code quality.
- Actively learn the merchandising and pricing domain to build context for effective contributions.
Requirements
Years of Experience
0–1 years of frontend development experience (internships, projects, or academic coursework acceptable).
Basic Qualifications
- Hands-on exposure to React or Angular, TypeScript/JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.
- Familiarity with responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
- Strong communication skills and a desire to grow as a frontend engineer.
- AI-native mindset — demonstrated willingness to use AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, AI code assistants) as part of everyday engineering practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship or academic project experience in web application development with modern frontend frameworks.
- Familiarity with Java, Spring Boot, or backend technologies through coursework or personal projects.
- Exposure to RESTful APIs and how frontend applications consume backend services.
- Familiarity with UI testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress, or React Testing Library).
- Interest in retail, eCommerce, or enterprise technology domains.
- Experience using AI tools for code generation, debugging, or learning.
