The Role:

We are looking for a Compliance Officer to lead compliance initiatives for Razorpay's operations at the IFSC GIFT City. This role is critical in ensuring that all activities comply with regulations set by the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) and other applicable Indian and international regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of compliance frameworks, regulatory reporting, anti-money laundering (AML), and operational risk management in a fintech or financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and guidelines issued by IFSCA and other relevant authorities.
  • Monitor and implement compliance with RBI, FEMA, PMLA, and other Indian and international financial regulations applicable to IFSC operations.
  • Liaise with regulators to address queries, audits, and inspections, and ensure timely submission of reports and returns.
  • Stay updated with changes in legislation or regulation and advise the management team on necessary policy changes.
  • Oversee the compliance of all the Payment service activities offered at GIFT City.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure operational workflows are compliant, particularly in areas such as UPI, card processing and, international remittances
  • Develop and enforce strong transaction monitoring mechanisms to detect suspicious activities and mitigate risks.
  • Implement and maintain a robust AML/CFT (Combating Financing of Terrorism) framework in compliance with IFSCA and FATF (Financial Action Task Force) standards.
  • Ensure customer onboarding (KYC/CKYC) processes and due diligence are in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and compliance reviews to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain risk management frameworks for compliance operations.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance enterprise-wide compliance awareness through training programs and policy updates.
  • Assist in implementing, reviewing, and updating internal compliance policies and procedures to align with global standards.
  • Prepare and manage periodic compliance reports for submission to regulators and senior management.
  • Work closely with legal, finance, technology, and operations teams to ensure seamless compliance integration across all business activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve compliance processes using technology and automation.
  • Act as the point of contact for regulatory authorities, auditors, and external consultants.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or regulatory operations within the fintech, banking, or financial services sector.
  • Strong understanding of the financial ecosystem, regulatory landscape, and operations at IFSC GIFT City.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, including RBI, FEMA, PMLA, and IFSCA guidelines.
  • Hands-on experience with AML tools, compliance software, and transaction monitoring systems.
  • Ability to interpret and implement complex regulatory requirements into operational processes.
  • High attention to detail, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) and CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) is an added advantage.
