Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Manager Sales.

Reports To: Head Commercial

Required Experience: 4 to 5 Years

Location: Andheri, Mumbai

Job Summary

Responsible for generating new business, managing client accounts, and driving revenue growth within the freight forwarding division. The role involves identifying sales opportunities, promoting company services, preparing quotations, and maintaining strong customer relationships to achieve business targets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in air consolidation freight forwarding services.
  • Conduct cold calls, client visits, and presentations to promote company solutions.
  • Prepare and share competitive quotations, proposals, and service offerings.
  • Work towards achieving monthly and annual sales targets.

2. Customer Account Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers.
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable freight solutions.
  • Maintain regular follow-up on inquiries, quotations, and ongoing shipments.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through timely communication and service delivery.

3. Coordination with Internal Teams

  • Collaborate with customer service, operations, and pricing teams to provide accurate rates and service commitments.
  • Share customer requirements with operations to ensure smooth shipment execution.
  • Coordinate with the finance team for billing, payments, and credit control.

4. Market Research & Lead Generation

  • Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer need to design effective sales strategies.
  • Generate leads through networking, referrals, and market intelligence.
  • Participate in industry events and exhibitions to enhance brand visibility.

5. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain proper sales records, client interaction logs, and revenue forecast reports.
  • Submit weekly and monthly sales performance reports to management.
  • Update CRM or internal sales systems with accurate customer data.

Skills and Qualifications

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of freight forwarding pricing structures, Incoterms, and service offerings.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain customer relationships.
  • Target-oriented mindset with strong business acumen.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Knowledge

  • Understanding of global logistics, international trade practices, and documentation.

Awareness of industry trends, customer requirements, and market dynamics.
