Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Professor in Fashion Design located at ITM SLS Baroda University in Vadodara. The role involves planning and delivering lectures, developing course content, supervising student projects, and providing guidance to undergraduate and postgraduate students. The Assistant Professor will conduct research in the field, contribute to academic publications, and participate in departmental and university activities, including curriculum development, assessments, and mentoring.

In addition, the role includes handling administrative responsibilities such as academic coordination, maintaining departmental records and documentation, assisting in accreditation and compliance processes, organizing academic events, and supporting institutional operations. Engaging with industry collaborations and maintaining high academic and professional standards are integral responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in Fashion Design, Textile Design, and Pattern Making
  • Proficiency in Fashion Illustration, Design Software, and Visual Merchandising
  • Experience with Curriculum Development, Student Mentorship, and Academic Research
  • Knowledge of Sustainable Fashion Practices, Industry Trends, and Innovations
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Master's degree or higher in Fashion Design or a related field (Ph.D. preferred)
  • Minimum 2-5 years of teaching or relevant industry experience
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative educational environment
